Inspired in equal part by #Banksy, and my friend’s wedding (after which my ceiling was covered with red helium balloons), ‘Floating balloon’ is part of a series of wooden cut-outs featuring icons of popular culture

The balloon fixes to the wall, and the satin ribbon hangs loose giving a sense that the balloon is floating midair. Alternatively fixed flat to the ceiling

Painted with a combination of stencil and freehand. No two pieces will be exactly the same #99redballoons

What has essentially been an elevated addition to my workbench for the last however long, is now available as a one-off piece of artwork. Currently exhibited as part of ‘Decked’; the September 2025 exhibition presented by @theymadethistagram and @nobodysbusinesstattoo.

Much as is the case with all of my Work-Bench Off-Cuts, the skateboard holds a history of all the paints I've used in the pieces of work I've made alongside (and evidence of quite a few cups of coffee). ‘Beauty’ has been hand-finished with lettering, painted with a high gloss black enamel paint.
