I did a silly thing; When I drilled the wall-fixing into the back on these two mirrors, the screws were a fraction of a mm too long, and they poked through the wood and made two very tiny marks on the mirror, right between the eyes – see photos.

The mirror is still set-in to the wood, but the gradient of the bevel means it raises the glass slightly proud of the wood. The bevel gives the glass a rim which catches the light and reflection differently, adding an extra detail. The thicker glass means the face appears double when looked at side-on; as illustrated in the photos.

The surface of the wooden frame has been carefully hand-painted, and finished with a dead-flat varnish. The smiley face has been applied with a durable vinyl for easy cleaning. Care must still be taken, and I always recommend dusting your mirror clean with a soft brush.
